  • Now Is Christ Risen

20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (1 Corinthians 15:20-22 - - - in the Holy Bible)
  • Our Justification

    20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
    23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
    24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus Christ our Lord from the dead;
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. (Romans 4:20-25 - - - in the Holy Bible)

  • The Day God Almost Made A Mistake

The Day God Almost Made A Mistake

    by

    Pastor Clarence William Page

Almighty God is perfect. He is sovereign (He does whatever He wants to do). He is Omnipotent (all powerful). He is Omniscient (all knowing). He is immutable (unchanging). He is Omnipresent (He is everywhere). He is Truth (He cannot lie). He is Holy (He cannot sin). He is Living (He cannot die and stay dead).

Almighty God never makes a mistake. Almighty God cannot make a mistake. Almighty God has never made a mistake and He never will make a mistake.

If I did not know all of the above and know assuredly that they are all absolutely true, I would think that one day God made a mistake or almost made a mistake. After considering all that God made, I would conclude (if I did not know assuredly that all of the above is absolutely true) that Almighty God, in His desire for fellowship and pleasure, made or almost made a mistake.

When I looked at the height and beauty of the heaven (sky) I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the vastness and beauty of the earth I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the face of the waters I would not think that the face of the waters were a mistake.

When I looked at the light I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the darkness I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the firmament I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the dry land I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at Seas I would not think that they were a mistake.

When I looked at the grass I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the herb yielding seed I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the fruit tree yielding fruit I would not think that it was a mistake.

When I looked at the two great lights (sun and moon) I would not think that they were mistakes.

When I looked at everything else that God made (everything except one) I would not think that they were mistakes.

All the things that God made (all except one) obey Him perfectly. They do exactly what they were created to do. There is no feeling that they may have been mistakes (though some are aggravating to man).

The one creature that God made that makes it “look like” that God made or almost made a mistake is that creature called “man”.

From the very beginning of his creation, man has been a problem (for Almighty God). If I did not know better I would surely think that when Almighty God created man he made a mistake. I know He did not make a mistake but man has so disobeyed Almighty God that the “reputation” of Almighty God has been severely impugned.

All of the rest of Almighty God’s creation (Earthly creation) obey God perfectly; but not man. From the very beginning, man has disobeyed Almighty God. To this very day, man continues to disobey Almighty God.

Man’s disobedience to Almighty God is called wickedness. Early on, God saw man’s wickedness and God began to regret that He had made man on the earth. It grieved God at His heart.

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. (Genesis 6:5-6 - - - The Holy Bible)

Not only did man get himself in trouble, he also got the beast, the creeping thing and the fowl of the air in trouble. Man is a terrible creature!!!

Man also got God Himself in trouble. The Living God (who had no beginning and has no ending [The Eternal God]) found it necessary to send His Son (Jesus Christ) to earth to die for man. Man’s disobedience caused the pain, shame, grief and death which Jesus Christ suffered on the cross at Calvary (Calvary is a hill just outside the gates of ancient Jerusalem, Israel). Man is a terrible creature!!!

In Almighty God’s Universe (and all the Universe and Eternal realities are His) the penalty for sin is death. In other words, the Holy God requires the death of the sinner. That is the unchanging decree of Almighty God. Never forget this: Man is NOT to kill the sinner - - that is God’s job.

God is a God of grace. Man is not as graceful as God is. Man, in many instances, likes to kill. God does not like to kill. God takes NO pleasure in the death of the wicked.

11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? (Ezekiel 33:11 - - - The Holy Bible)

Though God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, the unchanging decree of God is that the penalty for sin is death. The penalty for EACH and EVERY sin is death. So, if a person sins one sin the person owes his life to God - - - the only way that sin can be erased is by the death of that person. So, since the penalty for EACH and EVERY sin is death, man cannot atone for his own sin by dying (because the very death he would die would be the God-required payment for that one sin).

Once again, you must NOT forget the following: The sin death penalty is to be administered by Almighty God Himself. Man is NOT to kill the sinner. When you sin you MUST NOT kill yourself and no other man or woman has the right to kill you (there may be an exception for government [see Romans Chapter 13]).

So, because the penalty for sin is death; and, since man cannot both die for his own sin and at the same time atone for his own sin, man is in a great predicament. What is man to do? There is nothing else man can do but seek help outside himself.

In steps the Son of God. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus Christ is Eternal. Jesus Christ is God the Son. Man’s sin got Jesus Christ (the very Son of Almighty God) in trouble! Man is a terrible creature!!!

Man cannot atone for his own sin. God’s sin penalty is unchanging. What is man to do?

God is a God of grace. That is how man escaped when he first grieved God at His heart (Genesis 6:6). Though God was grieved at His heart, God had grace in His eyes!!!

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. (Genesis 6:8 - - - The Holy Bible)

Hallelujah!!! Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. Hallelujah!!!

Man exists today because of the grace of Almighty God.

Adam (the first man) represents all men.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who also became the Son of man, represents God and Heaven.

    Adam’s disobedience brought death.

Jesus Christ’s total obedience (to God the Father) brought life.

8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (Romans 5:8-9 - - - The Holy Bible)

Hallelujah!!! God commendeth His love toward us. Hallelujah!!!

So, man’s wickedness occasioned the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, the very Son of God!!!

    Man is a terrible creature!!!

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (Romans 5:19 - - - Holy Bible)

In order to truly represent man in the atonement for sin, Jesus Christ, the very Son of God, had to become a man. That is why he had to be born like a man is born (He was born of the Virgin Mary). On earth, Jesus Christ was the “God man”. He was fully God and fully man. He was 100% God and he was 100% man. How, you ask, is that possible? It is a mystery (God knows the answer [I don’t]).

The great work that Jesus Christ did on behalf of man has made all the difference. Through the great work of Jesus Christ, we can now be free from sin, can become servants to God, have fruit unto holiness and can receive the free gift of God, which is eternal life. Hallelujah!!!

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:22-23 - - - The Holy Bible).

Though Jesus Christ has done all the major work for us, so many men and women still refuse to believe and accept him. Satan has deceived them. Man is a terrible creature!!!

To this very day, men and women are rebellious (they have rebelled against God); they and their ancestors have transgressed against God. They are impudent and stiff-hearted. They have been that way for thousands of years.

2 And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
4 For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God.
5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. (Ezekiel 2:3-5 - - - The Holy Bible).

So, though it looks like God made a mistake when He made man - - - His interactions with man prove otherwise. God keeps extending to man His hand of Grace and Love. Many men and women keep rejecting God’s grace and love but God has, nevertheless, given to them the chance to be Saved that He has (through Jesus Christ our Lord) given to all men and all women. They choose. All men choose. All women choose. They choose Heaven or they choose Hell. The choice is totally up to them.

    Man is a terrible creature!!!

Today, right now, many many men and women refuse to even give Almighty God one day out of each seven days He gives them. They want it all for themselves. They are rebellious, impudent and stiff-hearted. Man is a terrible creature!!! Man is so terrible that, if one did not know better, one would think that when God made man He (God) made a mistake. He did not make a mistake; however, men and women have continued to be unprofitable servants.

10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do. (Luke 17:10 - - - The Holy Bible)

Today many men and women in the United States of America refuse to observe one Holy Day each week. Rather, they use the Holy Day (Sunday) for their pleasures. It is as if they have other “gods” before Almighty God. Further, it is as if they worship those other “gods” on Almighty God’s Holy Day. In my ministerial opinion, they worship the idol “gods” of television, racing, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, golf and many other secular activities (you name them). Man is a terrible creature!!!

Did Almighty God make a mistake when He made man? No.

Did Almighty God almost make a mistake when He made man? No.

Almighty God cannot make a mistake.

Almighty God cannot almost make a mistake.

Why, then, the title of this article, “The Day God Almost Made A Mistake”?

This article is thusly titled for your benefit (for your understanding). “How so”, you may ask.

    Almighty God has no deficits.

Almighty God has no foolishness. Yet, the Holy Bible mentions the “foolishness” of God. The term, “the foolishness of God” is used in the Holy Bible for our benefit (for our understanding). God has no foolishness within Himself.

Almighty God has no weakness. Yet, the Holy Bible mentions the “weakness” of God. The term, “the weakness of God” is used in the Holy Bible for our benefit (for our understanding). God has no weakness within Himself.

    23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (I Corinthians 1:23-25 - - - The Holy Bible)

“The Day God Almost Made A Mistake”. I hope you understand.
