The Internet Makes Books More Important
High Point, North Carolina - - (February 15, 2019) - - If you are an intellectual, books are more important now than ever before. You may have bought the hype that the Internet and digital media will make books obsolete. Not so!!!
Censorship on social media has made it crystal clear that intellectual expression will be seriously curtailed by Internet thought police. This is what makes books so very important for the present and the future. Clearly, social media is not robust enough to entertain deep and incisive intellectual discussions. Many who have tried it (including this writer) have been banned from certain social media platforms.
In addition to books, in-person discussion groups will become more (not less) important. Again, the reason: Censorship on the Internet.
So, while advancements in technology and artificial intelligence have their benefits, they (clearly) also have disadvantages.
Support book publishing (you may have to publish your own). Support "Book Libraries" (some libraries are trying to become "all digital" and the software may censor your intellectual thoughts).
So, let's gear up for deep and uncensored intellectual discussions by:
1. Publishing in paper book form, and
2. Meeting in live in-person groups
Intellectualism should not be hindered by technology. We must be wise enough to find ways to maintain those healthy, deep, polemic, and debate-driven discussions that, in the past, have given birth to untold numbers of good decisions, plans and actions.
Almighty God approves of book writing and publishing. In Revelation chapter 1, verses 10 and 11, we read:
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (Revelation 1: 10-11 - - - in the Holy Bible)
