North Carolina's Governor responds
By Staff ReporterSeptember 19, 2016
Raleigh, NC - - - Last week the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) announced that it will move certain championship games out of North Carolina. The decision to move the games, according to news reports, is a result of North Carolina House Bill 2 being in effect. Apparently the ACC wants the bill repealed.
North Carolina's Governor, Pat McCrory, released a statement in response to the ACC announcement. In the September 14th statement the governor said:
"The issue of redefining gender and basic norms of privacy will be resolved in the near future in the United States court system for not only North Carolina, but the entire nation. I strongly encourage all public and private institutions to both respect and allow our nation’s judicial system to proceed without economic threats or political retaliation toward the 22 states that are currently challenging government overreach."
